The Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Mumtaz Hussain attended our last Awards Ceremony. Here he can be seen at the University of Huddersfield Lecture Theatre handing out awards to Year 6 children for their excellent achievements - the best ever SATS results in the school's history!

Pupils, staff and parents were entertained by Musica Holme Valley String Quartet who played ‘A Million Dreams’ and School Talent Show winner Ayaan Masood who amazed everyone with his beat boxing. Year 6 pupil Omotolani Adeboyejo sang a wonderful solo and then was joined by the brilliant Year 6 singers. Children from Years 3, 4 and 5 also won awards for Maths, English, Creative Arts, Sports and ‘Being Brilliant’.

The event was attended by all the Year 6 pupils and the very proud parents of all the award winners. We were so pleased to see so many parents there to support their children and share in the celebration.

Our special guests also included Inspector James Kitchen from West Yorkshire Police; Poet Mr Donavan Christopher;  School Games Organiser and SPIN Manager Ms Linda Stacey, and the Chair of the Governing Body’s Standards Committee, Mr Paul Tonner. Here they can all be seen handing awards to the proud achievers!

Year 6 leavers also got to take their leaving pictures with the Headteacher, as well as their teachers, and there were tears of joy with so many wonderful memories, as well as farewell. The Headteacher invited all the leavers to come back and visit the school whenever they wanted.
